Why Study Abroad ✈️
Standard of Education
Top class faculty and superior infrastructure with cutting-edge facilities make foreign universities an ideal choice. There’s academic freedom and modern teaching methods, as also flexibility to transition between disciplines. Plus you have easy access to faculty and world-class labs in the campus.
Wide Range of Subject Options
An expansive array of courses and subject combinations allow students to explore diverse disciplines simultaneously; for instance, a history major might also delve into mathematics. Additionally, the breadth of course offerings abroad surpasses domestic options, granting students unparalleled freedom to select unique subject combinations.
Career Prospects
Studying abroad works as a pivotal launchpad for international career opportunities. Employers naturally favor candidates with firsthand experience living in their country. Research by University of Westminster and IZA Germany highlights a strong link between studying abroad and enhanced job market competitiveness, solidifying the value of international study experience.
Alumni and Industry Connects
Studying abroad fosters a global network, connecting students with profs, peers, alumni and professionals. Students cultivate connect that extends beyond graduation, and tap into alumni networks worldwide. International academic environments offer networking opportunities with industry leaders, enhancing career prospects and promoting cross-cultural collaboration.
The Barriers
Myths and Fears
Fallacy that college abroad is an impossible dream
Most parents or students believe that education abroad is either too expensive or the process of preparation is too cumbersome.
Inability to avail services of experienced counsellors
Study abroad aspirants know very little of processes that can help them prepare academically and in building a portfolio of various activities.
Weak student profile
A stellar academic record may not be supported by adequate or consistent performance in sports or extra-curricular activities and voluntary work.
Overcoming barriers with CCC
Handholding from start to end
Each student’s interest and aptitude are different from another. Also, each college has faculty and facilities renowned in different subjects. We help each student logically arrive at a program that best suits his academic interests. This is further complemented by a list of ideal colleges for pursuing that stream. And then begins the planned preparation journey.
Guidance from Experts
Experienced counsellors work backwards to understand career aspirations and then offer a reality-based insight into what subject stream would work best for the student.
Whether the choice of major is clear or not, the students are suggested different options that exist, and a structured plan is put into place for them to start building their profile systematically.
The student then works on a devised plan under the guidance of a counsellor to build a strong application for a stream and college that are in sync with his career goals.
Structured, guided Multi-year Program
A combination of academic and non-academic achievements form the basis of a student’s selection into a college. The non-academic component is usually found lacking. We understand a student’s aptitude and interest to devise an annual student development plan comprising a series of activities in line with the student’s goals.
Each student’s set of activities (sports, blogging, volunteering, dance, etc) will be unique for each student and includes blogs, podcasts, research papers, internship, voluntary work, social media profile building, and more.
Ed-tech Platform
The ed-tech platform maps the entire journey of a student’s preparation for admissions. offering transparency to all stakeholders – students, mentors, coaches and parents – to understand the work being done on a monthly and quarterly basis.
It ensures accountability on all fronts – students have set dates for completion of each assignment; counsellors have their eyes on targets being met; and parents have all-time access to track progress being made.
Our Offerings – Customised Approach
Tailor-made program for each student
The preparation for college admission needs ample time to engage in a multitude of activities to build a student’s profile. At College Counselling Coach, we offer two programs – one that’s for Grades IX-XII, so that by the time school finishes, the student has been through a steady academic and extra-curricular prep to have a strong profile; and another that is for Grades XI-XII, for those who start later, to prepare for being competitive college applicants.
Early Starters (Grades IX-XII)
The Early Starters program enables students to engage in self-discovery and self-analysis by starting their preparation from as early as grade IX onwards. With our psychometric tests and counselling, students gain a clear understanding of their interests and if their abilities support those interests. The selection of subjects for senior classes is then aligned with both interest and competency in that subject. This paves the way for improved academic performance which is a major determiner for selection at colleges abroad.
Starting early also gives students ample time to build a strong profile in extra-curricular interests, the other crucial element that bolsters an application further. Once the students have taken care of profile building in grades IX and X, they can focus on the academic commitment that the last two years of school demands of them.
Timely Movers (Grades XI-XII)
The Timely Movers program enables students to concentrate on their academics while we take charge of devising a two-year plan of specific activities, track timely participation and ensure that their non-academic achievements highlight a consistent pursuit in their areas of interest. This apart, our counsellors also provide guidance and support for boosting academic performance. Each admission application has different components – academic performance; profile building in non-academic interests; shortlisting of colleges; essays; letters of recommendation; and finally submitting of applications.
We guide a student through identifying colleges which would be the best fit for his goals, give direction on refining essays, support him in building a profile that provides tangible evidence of his interests and finally help him submit his applications.
